Almost 6 Months Old????

I am sitting here waiting to pick up my mom from the airport and it dawns on me... my baby girl is going to be 6 months old on Friday. WHAT???? WHERE has the time gone????

On the eating front, Charlotte is onto her last veggie before we start her on fruits. She actually is loving peas. I am just suprised at how much she has enjoyed every vegetable. We have gotten to the point these past two days with her cereal and her veggie that she reaches for the spoon and gets a good grip and then puts the spoon in her mouth. My baby is already trying to feed herself. While this is very exciting it's bitter sweet. It's going toooo fast...

Today Carrie and I ditched her infant seat and installed her Moo Moo Britax Convertible seat and I LOVE IT I mean she loves it. It was difficult to install so we brought it to Peoria FD to have them "reinstall" it. And it was a hit with Charlotte (that is after she ate b/c she was a cranky butt).

Charlotte and I went on an hour long walk today with Carrie to try to get Belly Ella to make her appearance. Unfortunately, there was no activity to report. Then we hit up Starbucks and then Safeway and tonight all of us (me, Bks, Carrie, Adamame and Double B) got our hair done by Brooke and ordered pizza. It was a fun night, but the best is yet to come.

MY MOM will be here tonight!!! It's been since August 22nd since she has seen Charlotte and SOOOO much has been happening. Including today, she was able to sit in the shopping cart while Auntie Carrie and I shopped. And her shopping cart cover was sooooooo cute.

I am completely loving our life. The three of us are such a happy and blessed little family.

Our Shopping Excursion

Ever since I have joined Couponsense I have been "food" shopping on the weekends when Brian is able to watch Charlotte. During the hot summer months it was bad enough that I would stop at multiple stores, but to be lugging around Charlee was way too much for me to handle. But this weekend I wanted to actually enjoy our time together versus me taking a few hours to hit store to store.

Well.... I wish I had a camera to take a picture of me and lil miss Charlee girl. Here's how our trip went:

Basha: Mommy left her wallet in the car
CVS: Mommy decided instead of putting her infant seat in the shopping cart like I always do why not just put her in her stroller?
Walgreens: NO issues other than it taking 5 minutes to get out of the parking lot due to traffic on 83rd Ave
Albertsons: Charlotte had a poopy diaper so I changed her in the back seat of the car in the parking lot. Then Mommy took a couple minutes to get said child into the Baby Bjorn. Have you ever seen a woman with an infant in a carrier with about 50 coupons?

Yeah, not fun for the mom but hysterical for the other shoppers. Charlotte kept grabbing the coupons and then I would put them as high in the air as I could and she still was reaching for them. Pretty bad when your 5 month old has almost longer arms than mommy. Then it was time to get the Cheerios on the bottom shelf without losing my child out of the baby bjorn.

Last but not least we were at the checkout and as mommy was conversing with the nice Albertson's cashier Charlotte was upset that she couldn't see mommy so she was stretching her head back that she can watch me. I giggled so many times during this trip and I'll never forget it. I will also never do that again. It will be a lot easier to shop during the week when Charlotte can sit in the cart. But it will get difficult again when she's not easily amused and entertained.

Charlotte sleeps about 10-12 1/2 hours straight each night, I know I'm blessed. I would much rather her sleep at night... but it makes for a very long day with NO naps. Once 6 or 6:30 rolls around and we are home, I better be running her bath or else it's cranky Charlotte.

Today was day 5 of Squash. The highlight of tomorrow.... GREEN BEANS. This will be hilarious. Mommy hates GREEN BEANS (thanks to my brother, Keith).

I finally did IT...

And by it I mean started this, my very own blog. I am no longer just a lurker in the blog world, I am now an author and editor to our life. It's an amazing life I tell you. I may write down some feelings within this blog that may rub you the viewer/reader the wrong way. I apologize if I offend you but this a place that I need to feel free to get my feelings out. We can agree to disagree on matters.

Charlotte is now 5 months 1 week and 1 day old and I do not even know where that time has gone. I do know that our lives did not take that paved road that we had planned to follow. There was no crossing those T's and dotting those I's. We are no longer living in our "dream" home that we had a 10 year plan for. I am no longer working in corporate hell just to keep up that lifestyle we were used to. But, I would not change a thing.

My husband has been the most surprising and admirable man. While he was very difficult during my pregnancy (yes, that is the nicest way to put it) once he laid eyes on his baby girl he was a changed man. Minus those first two days after we left the hospital ;-) Brian has been the most understanding and loving man. He has afforded me the opportunity to stay home and care for Charlotte. Everyday he comes home after a long day at workwith open arms. He takes Charlotte off my hands so that I can finish dinner/finish cleaning bottles/finish laundry. After dinner he gets his alone time while I bathe Charlotte but he is waiting with her bottle to feed her and to put her to bed. This is our nighttime ritual and each night I thank God for him, thank God for Charlotte and thank God for our family and friends.

On a less sappy note, Charlotte cut her first two bottom teeth yesterday and while that is a huge milestone I have to also report that she is loving her veggies (well at least Squash so far).

It will take me a while to figure out this blogging thing and how to make it look as great as all the others out there. But here's to actually starting it!!!
